This 5 days/4 nights tour has been designed for cycling enthusiasts, nature lovers, photograph hunters, and intrepid travelers. The route into Vietnam’s most Northern provinces, and promises it to be both challenging and off the beaten track. Travel combine cycle through the karst limestone landscapes, visiting hill trip villages and beautiful waterfalls.

High-end mountain bike: Trek 3900 or trek 4500 and giant. The cycling time is just approximate and depends on our speed and the weather.

Communication

Expect warm, friendly welcomes and hellos from the local people when you ride through the small communities and visit the local homes. If you want to bring small gifts, things like notebooks, books, pens, pencils, toys, balloons, for example, are recommended.

Passport, change of clothes, sunglasses, and hat, toiletries, sunblock, insect repellent, flashlights, good sport shoes, personal first aid kit and medicines, small VND notes for buying drinks.

HIGHLIGHTS

This tour is for pro-cyclists biking level. You challenge yourself with 10 – 80 km of cycling each day and climb up the Phia Den mountain pass to a level of about 1200 m. The cycling distance can be customized and flexible with van supported.
You will see amazing views and transformations of scenery when you cycle through the majestic mountainous area of Cao Bang and Ba Be National park. You will see vast colorful terraces, take a rowboat to discover Ba Be Lake, the biggest freshwater of Vietnam or see the magnificent of Ban Gioc waterfall, the biggest waterfall of Vietnam. We will cycle deep into ethnic minority villages to explore highland people's lives.
You have chances to meet locals when cycling through small villages of Tay, Nung and Thai ethnic minorities along the way, interact with them and know more about their life and culture.
You can enjoy a variety of local cuisine and learn the features of each region's cuisine.

We start from the hotel in Hanoi city early morning from 7:30 to avoid the traffic in rush hour. We drive up and pass through the undulating terrain of tea plantations in Thai Nguyen city.
The route continues on our first glimpses of rural Vietnam. We have lunch at Bac Can town and upload the bikes for off-highway to a quiet road with great views of small villages of Tay, Nung and Thai ethnic minorities along the way. br> We arrive at Ba Be Lake in the late afternoon. Check-in local guesthouse in Ba Be National park. Time for rest and enjoy dinner with the local family.
Nighttime for chatting and exchange the cultures with the locals.

Driving Distance: 220 km Cycling.
Distance: about 40-50 km.

Breakfast at homestay. This morning we start with a short cycle to the boat dock where we challenge for fun cruise like a small raft to glide along the river if possible.
Then visit the cave by boat before having lunch at a place near a beautiful waterfall.
Afternoon we visit the beauty of Ba Be lakes on the local canoes. Our activities include some swimming and short cycling to the main road.
Return to our guesthouse by van support. Dinner and free evening.

Cycling distance: 10-15 km.

After breakfast, we say goodbye to family and Ba Be Lakes.
Start our new day schedule at around 8 am on our way biking on the dirt roads for about 60 km towards Nguyen Binh.
There is a challenging climb up Phia Den mountain pass to a level of about 1,200 m. Picnic lunch en route.
Afternoon we cycle on paved roads to Nguyen Binh, then our van picks us up for transfer to Cao Bang town.
Arrive in the late afternoon, check-in, and take a short rest before dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Cao Bang town.

Driving Distance: 160 km Cycling.
Distance: 50-70 km

Breakfast at a local restaurant. Ready for our morning at 8 am heading out of the town we start venturing into the most remote northern regions of Cao Bang Province.
Today it is well-paved roads before arriving at Ban Gioc Waterfall. This is the biggest waterfall in Vietnam. Late picnic lunch, swimming if possible, and rest near the waterfall. (Water level is not full in the dry season).
Our routes on way back include probably the most isolated places in Vietnam, near the China border together with riding along one of the idyllic streams created by the Ban Gioc waterfall. Time breaks en route to visit the hill tribe villages and many photographs.
Get arrival back to Cao Bang around 5 pm. Dinner and have overnight stayed here.

Driving Distance: 160 km Cycling.
Distance: 70-80 km

After breakfast, we start our last day at 8:00 am on the bikes for a beautiful morning ride through That Khe, conquering 3 mountain passes.
Then a transfer to Lang Son town for lunch.
Having tea or coffee to refresh then we get on van driving back to Hanoi. Arrival in Hanoi in the late afternoon. Tour ends at your hotel at around 4:30 PM. Driving Distance: 320 km Cycling.
Distance: 40-60 km.
